Hi, I am Yulia V Smirnova, an online marketer, eCommerce queen (as people in the industry call me)
and a founder of CommerceBrain.com, a consultancy for eCommerce startups launching to market,
or growing their businesses
to the next level.
I also teach, collaborate and work with eCommerce entrepreneurs all over the world, practicing their expertise full-time in big eCommerce companies or applying what they learned from me, elsewhere or on their own experiences in their new ventures. Plus, I advise a select few startups in the Bay Area on growth marketing and engagement (mobile app products, consumer-centric marketing and scaling the user base).
I started CommerceBrain.com back in 2013, based on the increasing demand of consulting requests, which I got, while I was still working for Walmart.com and eBay and while attending and speaking at industry events on topics of growth marketing, SEO, conversion optimization and eCommerce business. Being a practicing expert in the field allowed me to meet various people easily and share my knowledge and experience, which naturally evolved into consulting projects and soon official launch of CommerceBrain.com.
In 2014, I published a book on eCommerce growth based on working with over 55+ experts in the industry.
I have practiced in the industry myself for over 10 years, as a marketer, product manager, speaker and blogger.
Prior to CommerceBrain.com, I made online experience simpler for customers and profitable for business, while
working for Walmart.com, Shopping.com (an eBay company), Texas Instruments, Microsoft and Intel.
I also used to blog on intelligent marketing insights at Memesponge.com. I received my BA in Marketing
and Advertising Management and MBA from Portland State University, and MA in Foreign Languages Teaching
from Sakhalin State University.
